WAPZ Radio University Internship
Training today’s Students into Tomorrow’s Communications and Leaders in Broadcasting.

A Radio University Internship is a non-paid opportunity. The education is the compensation. The value of what you learn about radio broadcasting that you can receive is practical and priceless.

Requirements for a personal interview: A high school diploma, a flexible schedule to accommodate 12.5 to 15 hours of weekday hours for three months, a good attitude, and a strong desire to develop excellent skills to prepare for a successful career in radio broadcasting.

Have you wondered how to break through in radio and learn what goes on behind the scenes at a radio station? You can find out, and be part of the process as a Radio University Intern.

The Radio University Interns are valued here at WAPZ and are treated like other members of the WAPZ staff. Projects could include learning the radio technical equipment, market research, coordination of special broadcast events, developing interviewing techniques, and joining our Advertising Specialists on sales calls.

Radio University Interns have a unique opportunity to observe our live, local talk shows, and talk show and announcer-hosts as they produce and broadcast their programs. The Radio University can help prepare your portfolio and skills training.

This in depth training is all free of charge, but you must be willing to work hard towards achieving your broadcast goals, and understand there is no compensation during this Radio University program.
